USA TodayComparison
...the new Pathfinder engine not only substantially bettered its predecessor, it also stepped out ahead of the market's benchmark, the larger V8 in the number one-selling Ford Explorer.

Front seats are comfortable and supportive, on road and off, but would benefit from a deeper bottom cushion for added thigh support.

Strategically positioned sound deadening mutes road and tire noise, including that from the Off-Road model's more aggressive treads.
One Liner
Anybody sentenced to the [rear] center-row center seat had best hope the trip is short.
Model ReviewsOne Liner
Pathfinder, good as it is, needs a little - a little more room in back, a little lower price, a little better fuel efficiency, a little more time to ensure there are no bugs in this first-year, new-everything design.
The Nissan Pathfinder is a mid-size SUV suited for everything from a suburban lifestyle to off-road adventures. It provides rugged performance and styling in a comfortable package. The Pathfinder is equipped with a 4.0-liter V6 engine that produces 266-hp. A 5.6-liter 310-hp V8 is available on the four-wheel drive version. Both engines are mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The Pathfinder seats seven and includes such safety features as active head restraints, six airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control and tire pressure monitoring. For 2010, a power moonroof becomes standard on the LE V6 trim. On the LE V8 trim a navigation system is now standard equipment.
