The Nissan cube® has earned a 2010 Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. The Top Safety Pick award recognizes vehicles that provide superior overall crash protection among vehicles in their class and only includes vehicles with available electronic stability control. The cube comes standard with Nissan’s electronic stability control system, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)

The IIHS has expanded the criteria to earn a Top Safety Pick with the 2010 version of the award. In addition to earning a “GOOD” rating in each of the front, side, and rear impact tests performed by the IIHS, a vehicle must also earn a “GOOD” rating in their new roof crush evaluation.

Naming the Altima a sportier alternative in the midsize segment, Consumers Digest selected the 2009 Altima as a winner of their Automotive Best Buy Award in the Family Cars category. 2008 Quest Received Highest Front Impact and Side Impact Safety Rating
The Quest has received the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA's) highest rating – 5 stars – for front-impact and side-impact crash safety.

Perhaps the most controversial entry in the conservative Minivan market, Quest owners love their vehicle. Quest owners find it to be Fun to Drive (at least relative to the other vehicles in the segment), and they rate Power/Acceleration highly. Quest ratings for Entry and Exit are excellent. Showing that they were looking for something different, owners rate Image higher than other vehicles in the Minivan segment. [1]

Quest earned the highest possible rating ("Good") in the front and side impact tests conducted by IIHS. 40 mph frontal offset crash tests are good assessments of vehicles structural design.  The first 2009 mid-sized SUV to receive an IIHS Top Safety Pick
The all-new Nissan Murano is rated a best overall performer in front, side and rear tests among midsize SUV models. To become a TOP SAFETY PICK, a vehicle must earn the highest rating (“Good”) in all three tests. Performing well in the frontal test is based on a 40-mph frontal offset crash into a deformable barrier. Side testing is based on performance when the side of a vehicle is struck by a barrier moving at 31 mph, rating the effectiveness of standard front and rear head curtain air bags and standard front-seat mounted torso air bags. Rear tests simulate a collision of a stationary vehicle struck in the rear at 20 mph.
